제가 동아일보를 들어가고 나왔던 이유

'나는 꼽사리다'에 출연하고 있는 선대인입니다. 나꼽살 들은 분들 가운데 제가 동아일보 다니다 나온 사정에 대해 궁금해 하시는 분들 계셔서 참고될 만한 글을 소개합니다. 여력이 없어서 새로 쓰지는 못해 제 책에 쓴 글 일부를 발췌해서 가져왔습니다. 댓글에서 제목과 내용이 다르다고 지적하는 분들 계신데, 트위터에 소개하기 위해 블로그에 옮겨온 글이라서 그렇습니다. 오해 없기를요.

저는 절친했던 제 친구를 떠올리지 않고 대학시절을 회상할 수 없습니다. 신문방송학을 전공했던 그 친구는 약간은 침울한 표정을 지닌, 감수성이 매우 발달한 친구였습니다. 그 친구의 손에 이끌려 대학 교지를 만드는 동아리 활동도 함께 했습니다. 필력이 대단했던 친구입니다. 대학시절 제 친구의 필력을 능가하는 사람을 보지 못했습니다. 천재적인 필력을 가진 사람이라고 하면 제 친구 같은 사람을 일컫는 거구나 싶을 정도였습니다.

그 친구의 꿈은 ‘동아일보 기자’였습니다. 그냥 기자도, 신문기자도 아닌 콕 집어서 ‘동아일보 기자’ 말입니다. 누군가 “네 성향으로 보면 한겨레기자가 더 맞지 않니?”라고 물어보면 그 친구는 천연덕스럽게 웃으며 “동아일보가 월급 더 많이 주잖아”라고 했습니다. 하지만 그건 그 친구의 솔직한 답변이 아니었습니다. “한겨레로는 세상을 못 바꾼다. 주류 신문에 들어가서 주류 신문을 바꿔야 세상이 바뀐다. 주류 신문 중에 그나마 제일 가능성이 있는 게 동아일보다.” 그게 그 친구 생각이었습니다. 상당히 호기롭고 어찌 들으면 상당히 순진한 답변이었지만, 대학시절 제게는 마음 깊이 와 닿는 답변이었습니다.

그 친구와 어울리다 보니 대학교 1학년이 끝나갈 무렵에는 제 장래희망도 당초 외교관에서 기자로 바뀌었습니다. 기자 중에서도 동아일보 기자가 되는 게 꿈이 돼버렸습니다. 그래서일까요? 시간이 갈수록 동아일보의 논조가 이상해지는 것을 느끼면서도 졸업할 때가지 동아일보는 제가 가고 싶은 제1순위 신문사였습니다. 그리고 운이 좋았던 것인지 졸업과 동시에 동아일보에 입사하게 됐습니다.

그런데 그 친구는 신문사에 입사하지 못했습니다. 집안이 너무 가난해 늘 학비 마련에 어려움을 겪던 그 친구는 졸업을 앞두고 우울증 증세를 보이는 것 같더니, 나중에는 정신분열증을 앓았습니다. 이후 고향인 부산으로 내려가 정신병원에 입원했다 퇴원하기를 여러 번 되풀이했습니다. 그래도 몇 년 전까지는 연락하고 지냈는데 이제는 그 친구와 연락마저 끊어졌습니다. 제가 유학 갔다 온 뒤 그 친구 연락처가 모두 바뀌어 있었습니다.

그 친구와 제가 대학시절 내내 다짐했던 것이 있습니다. ‘언론을 바꿔서 세상을 바꿔보자’. 동아일보에 입사해서도 저는 그 친구 몫까지 다해보겠다고 나름대로 열심히 노력했습니다. 하지만 좌절과 고난의 연속이었습니다. 내가 동아일보를 바꾸고, 언론을 바꾸고, 세상을 바꾸는 것이 아니라, 동아일보의 매트릭스 속에서 나의 꿈과 뇌수가 녹아내렸습니다. 도저히 이대로는 안 되겠다는 생각에 동아일보를 뛰쳐나온 것이 2002년 5월이었습니다.

지금 생각해보면, 저와 친구는 매우 순진했습니다. 왜 한국의 많은 언론들이 제 역할을 못하고 있는지 그 구조를 몰랐습니다. 왜 우리보다 앞서 입사했던 혈기방장한 선배들이 자신들이 몸담은 언론을 바꾸기보다는 자신들을 바꾸는 길을 택했는지를 몰랐습니다. 현실의 힘은 그만큼 강고했던 것이고, 우리에게는 순수한 혈기밖에 없었던 것입니다.

이 장의 집필을 앞두고 저의 20대를 돌이켜 보다 보니 제 친구 생각이 났습니다. 지금의 젊은 후배님들은 제 친구와 같은 상황에 놓이지 않았으면 합니다. 각자의 재능과 열정을 자신을 둘러싼 열악한 사회경제적 조건 때문에 꽃 피우지 못하는 일이 없기를 간절히 바랍니다. 그런데 현실은 그러지 못한 것 같아 너무 안타깝습니다. 점차 기성세대에 편입되고 있는 한 사람으로서 한없이 죄송한 마음입니다.

그리고 지금도 현실이 충분히 우울한데, 이대로 가다간 미래는 더 암울할 수 있다고 말하려니 원고를 쓰는 제 손에서 힘이 빠지는 기분입니다. 하지만 잿빛 미래를 장밋빛 미래로 바꿀 수 있는 주역은 역시 이 땅의 청춘들입니다. 미래를 바꾸려면 현실을 알아야 합니다. 현실을 올바로 아는 것이 설사 고통스럽더라도 말입니다. 그런 마음으로 이 장을 더욱 정성들여 썼습니다.

젊은 후배님들, 우리 좌절하지 맙시다. 저도 아직 좌절하지 않겠습니다. 제 친구와 함께 꾸었던 꿈을 신문사 안에서 이루진 못했지만 신문사 밖에서는 꼭 이루고 말 겁니다. 꿈에 이르는 경로는 조금 달라졌지만 저와 제 친구가 함께 꾸었던 꿈은 바뀌지 않았습니다. 좌절하기에는 우린 아직 너무 젊습니다. 그런 뜻에서 사무엘 울먼의 시 ‘청춘’을 여러분께 바칩니다. 여러분들이 영원히 청춘으로 남기를 기원합니다. 저도 영원히 청춘으로 남으려 노력하겠습니다.

청춘이란

인생의 어느 기간이 아니라 마음가짐을 말한다.

장밋빛 볼, 붉은 입술, 나긋나긋한 무릎이 아니라

씩씩한 의지, 풍부한 상상력,

불타오르는 정열을 가리킨다.

인생이란 깊은 샘의 신선함을 이르는 말이다.

청춘이란

고뇌, 공포, 실망에 의해서 기력은 땅을 기고

어린아이와 같은 미래에 대한 탐구심,

인생에 대한 흥미와 환희가 있다.

우리 모두의 가슴에 있는 '무선 우체국'을 통해

사람들과 하느님으로부터

아름다움, 희망, 격려, 용기,

힘의 영감을 받는 한 그대는 젊다.

영감이 끊기고,

영혼이 비난의 눈으로 덮이며

비탄의 얼음에 갇힐 때

20대라도 인간은 늙지만

머리를 높이 치켜들고

희망의 물결을 붙잡는 한

80세라도 인간은 청춘으로 남는다.

내년이면 신방과12학번이 될 학생입니다. 우리나라 언론계가 썩었다는 소리는 들었지만 아직 어려 현실로 다가오지 않았는데, 이런 글 읽으니 조금이나마 더 알 수 있을거 같습니다. 온실속 화초같은 20대 청춘이 아닌 벌판의 잔디같은 청춘이 되고싶은데, 될수있겠죠?^^ 글 잘읽었습니다~!!

  대학교 입학할때 님같은 생각조차 못했던
  마냥 무개념 꼬마였는데
  
  님을 보니 그때보다 오히려 지금 더

저 역시 조중동이 싫어하는 한명입니다만
케네디언님의 글을 읽다보니 비 논리적이어서 정말로 전직 기자출신인지 의아해지고 역으로 거짓된 글을 쓰신것 아닌지 의심이 들었습니다.

그 이유는
첫째로 제목과 본문의 불일치입니다.
똥아일보를 퇴사한 이유가 매트릭스와 구조상의 문제로 인한 도덕성에 대한 문제라고 하였지만 정작 어떠한 이유로 그러한 문제를 지적하는지 일례나 비교등을 하지 않았습니다. 다시말해 본인은 똥아가 나쁘다고만 하지 그 이유를 설명하지 못함으로 귀하는 똥아일보에 근무중 대항하지 아니하고 대인관계나 기타 이유의 본인 문제로 퇴사한것이 아니라면 전직기자가 아니라는 설명이 됩니다.
기자라면, 더욱이 본인의 일이었다면 사례를 하나쯤은 들어야하는것이 기본이라고 생각합니다.

두번째는 친구를 들먹이며 감정에 호소하고 진실을 숨기는 방식입니다.
흔히 하는 실수중의 하나이지만 너무 씨방일보에 대하여 과거의 환상을 이야기하고 친구이 몰락을 이야기하지만 정작 무엇을 이야기기 하는지 화려하기만 하지 실체는 존재하지 않습니다. 팩트가 없는 픽션이라고해도 무방한 글이지요.
전직기자였다면 감정에 호소하기 전에 팩트를 기반으로 한 픽션을 써야한다고 생각여야 한다고 봅니다.

세번째는 다음뷰와 일반인들에 잘 알려진 분이니만큼 거짓말은 하지 않을것이라고 보아 다른이들이 본인이 쓴 글을 모두 읽었을것이라는 생각을 가지지 말아야 한다는 것입니다.
전직기자출신이라면 기사를 쓸때 이러한 글을 써내려갔었는지요.

저 역시 이명박이 싫고 조중동은 쓰레기라고 이야기하는 사람들중 하나입니다.
최소한 글을 기고하시고 많은 이들이 읽어주길 바란다면 최소한 한번쯤을 스스로 정독하여 잘못된 부분이나 첨부할부분은 추가하여 내보내야 하지 않을까요?

친구분과 본인, 그리고 동아일보의 연관성이 마치 짜맞추기식이서 이것이 진정한 동아일보식 서술이라고 느껴버렸고 더욱이 무조건 조중동이 싫고 이명박이 미쳐보인다고만 하면서 논리적이지 못한 글을들 내보내는 일부 블로거들과 다를바 없어서 황당해서 적습니다.

  윗 분... 이 글이 신문기사는 아니지 않나요?
  다음뷰에서 구독하다보면, '나도 이명박을 싫어하는데...' 로 시작하는 글이 자주 보이는데, 대부분 글쓴이를 폄하하고 공격적으로 비난하더군요. 이것도 꼴통들의 신종 수단인지 심히 궁금합니다.
  20대 시절 친구를 떠올리면서 논리를 말해야 하고, 청춘에 대한 시를 이야기하면서 논리를 말해야 한다고 주장하는 건 오버스럽다고 봅니다.
  '글의 제목'과 '글의 주제'를 혼동하는 것 같군요.
  동아일보의 세부적 문제를 들춰내는 건 글쓴 분으로서도 상당한 용기와 작업이 필요하실 겁니다.

제목 보고 혹시나 했더니 글의 전개나 흐름으로 보아 전직 기자는 아닌 것 같고.. 아무리 동아가 허접 신문이라고 해도 거기서 기자 생활을 했다면, 제목과 연관되는 최소한의 논리나 설득력이 있어야 되는 거 아닌감?

요즘 고딩들이 써도 이 정도까지는 아닐 듯....

난 양시양비론을 좋아하는 사람이 아닙니다만,
사주도 문제가 있고 기자 개개인도 문제가 있다고 보는 사람입니다.
훌륭한 기자도 있겠지만, 못되고, 치졸하고, 남 등쳐먹는 기자가 더 많습니다. 심지어는 자기 자신의 의도대로 기사를 쓰기 위하여 팩트도 비틀어 버립니다. 원래 말이 아 다르고 어 다르잖아요. 요즘 인터넷 기사 보면 제목에 낚이는 것도 많잖아요.아무튼 기자도 문제고 사주도 문제죠. 사회의 공기인 언론을 자신의 사유물로 생각하고 사실을 전달하지 않고 자신의 의도대로 비틀어 버리고........ 언론의 힘을 이용하여 권력을 행사하고.. 아마도 지금도 한겨례신신문 기자분들도 자신의 일을 위하여 또는 누군가의 부탁을 들어주기 위하여 기자라는 자신의 신분을 이용하여 권력기관 어딘가에 빽이 되고 있겠지요. 내가 옆에서 지켜본 기자들은 다 그랬습니다. 아무리 사회의 정의를 부르짖어도 정작 자신은 뒤로 뭔가 청탁을 하고 누군가의 빽이 되고 있더라구요. 최소한 남을 등쳐 먹는 그런 나쁜 기자가 아닌 정의의 사도가 되려는 그런 기자도 그렇다는 것입니다.

지난 주말 트윗했던 김상수감독의 한겨레 칼럼 기고문 ‘정명훈, 토목공사식 성과주의’ http://www.hani.co.kr/arti/opinion/column/508291.html 에 대해 제 의견을 밝힙니다.

당초 저는 해당 칼럼의 내용만으로 봤을 때 서울시민의 세금이 정명훈(편의상 존칭 생략)이라는 예술가에 대한 특권적 대우를 위해 잘못 쓰이고 있다고 봐 많은 분들께서 읽어보시길 권했습니다. 하지만 이후 일부 클래식 애호가들과 서울시향에 있는 제 학교 후배 등을 통해 사안이 그렇게 간단하지 않다는 점을 알게 됐습니다. 특히 해당 칼럼이 투입된 비용만을 고려해 실제로 서울시향의 수준이 얼마나 향상됐는지, 또 클래식을 즐기는 시민들의 만족감이 얼마나 향상됐는지에 대한 고려가 없었고, 또 정명훈에 대한 대우에 대한 국제 비교에서 보기에 따라서는 잘못된 부분이 있다고 판단했습니다.

그래서 그 날 저녁 짧지만 사과하는 트윗을 올렸습니다. 직접 글을 쓴 당사자가 아니지만, 트위터에서 일정한 영향력을 가진 메신저가 유통된 컨텐츠에 대해서도 일정하게 책임지는 것은 당연하기에 사과드린 것입니다.

하지만 저는 그 칼럼이 무용하다고 생각하지는 않습니다. 좀 더 균형감 있고 입체적으로 해당 문제를 짚었으면 하는 아쉬움은 크지만 그 칼럼이 제기하는 문제의식은 우리가 함께 생각해 봐야 할 부분이 있습니다.

이걸 저는 문화예술 행위에 대한 가치 평가 문제이니 문화예술과 관련된 행위로만 논의를 제한하지 않아야 한다고 생각합니다. 정명훈이 어떤 민간기업의 후원을 받는 것이라면 아무런 문제가 없습니다. 하지만 정명훈에게 수십 억원의 시민 세금이 투입됩니다. 그러면 그 세금이 효과적으로 쓰이고 있는지, 그 세금이 쓰이는 과정이 투명한지에 대해 시민으로서 관심을 갖는 것은 당연합니다. 그런 면에서 전체적인 균형감의 문제를 떠나 “연 3000만원 판공비, 유럽에 있다는 외국인 보좌관 활동비 3만유로(약 4500만원), 해외활동비 4만유로(약 6000만원) 등 사용처가 불분명한 비용도 서울시향에서 정명훈씨의 은행 계좌로 입금됐다. 용도의 근거나 서류는 서울시향에 없다.”는 칼럼의 지적은 정당합니다. 또한 칼럼 내용에는 빠져 있지만 계약서상에 명시된 것과는 별개로 훨씬 많은 보수를 정명훈에 지급하는 ‘변칙계약’ 문제는 세금 집행의 투명성 확보 차원에서 반드시 제기해야 할 문제입니다.

또한 정명훈에 지급된 세금이 효과적으로 쓰이고 있는지는 단순히 클래식 애호가나 그 분야 몇몇 전문가들의 판단으로 끝날 일은 아닙니다. 예를 들어, 클래식 애호가 입장에서 서울시향의 음악 수준이 높아졌다고 느끼니 된 것 아니냐고 판단할 일이 아닙니다. (물론 이 분들의 의견도 매우 중요합니다만) 세금이 투입된 것이니만큼 클래식 애호가들뿐만 아니라 서울시민들 입장에서 그만한 돈을 투입할 가치가 있는지 사회적 합의를 이루는 것이 바람직합니다. 현실에서는 시민들 모두가 그런 공론화 과정에 참여할 수도 없고, 일일이 다 판단할 능력과 여유를 가지지 못할 수 있지만 공공기관은 최소한 그에 대한 합당한 설명을 할 의무가 있습니다.

그런데 아쉽게도 우리는 그런 과정을 소홀히 했던 것 같습니다. 정명훈 선생님에 대한 보수가 그 정도나 되는지 한때 서울시에 있었던 저도 이번에 처음 알았으니 대부분의 시민들이 모르지 않았을까 합니다. 그러니 애초부터 우리가 정명훈에 대해 쓰는 세금이 효과적으로 쓰이고 있는 것인지에 대한 시민들의 충분한 논의가 없었다고 판단됩니다.

또한 그 돈이 정명훈의 명성에 걸맞게 정당하게, 또는 효과적으로 쓰였다 해도 시민들의 합의를 이뤄야 할 부분은 또 있습니다. 정명훈에게 지급된 세금을 뛰어넘는 효과를 다른 문화예술 분야에 투입했을 때 더 바람직하게 쓰일 수는 없었는가, 하는 점 말입니다. 예를 들어, 정명훈에 대한 보수를 좀 줄이거나 차상위급 지휘자를 영입하는 대신 우리 자라나는 아이들의, 특히 재능은 있으나 제대로 혜택을 받지 못하는 저소득층 아이들의 예술교육을 위해 쓰는 것이 사회 전체적으로 볼 때 더 효과적일 수도 있지 않을까 이런 판단을 할 수 있다는 겁니다.

이는 사실은 모든 공공정책에 있어서 당연히 따져보아야 할 문제입니다. 그런데 이 과정을 우리는 소홀히 해왔다고 저는 느낍니다. 단순히 정명훈에 대한 보수를 깎자거나 하는 주장이 아닙니다. 오히려 사회적 합의만 이뤄진다면 정명훈에 대한 보수가 올라갈 수도 있을 거라고 봅니다. 중요한 것은 시민의 세금이 투입되는 데 대한 시민들의 동의가 일정하게 필요하다는 점입니다.

또한 좀 더 욕심을 낸다면 이 과정에서 서울시의 문화예술 정책 전반에 대해 획기적 전환이 일어났으면 합니다. 제가 서울시 재직 때 각종 문화예술 예산이라는 것이 ‘세빛둥둥섬’이니 한강예술섬이니 창작스튜디오니 하는 토건사업을 위한 포장이 되는 경우를 많이 보았습니다. 정작 문화예술 인력에 대한 투자나 저소득층을 위한 문화예술 교육, 일반 시민들의 문화예술 향유에 대한 투자는 매우 빈약한 현실을 알게 됐습니다. 공공도서관만 일례로 들어도 서울시에 도서관다운 도서관의 수는 선진국의 10분의 1 수준에 불과하고 그나마도 ‘시설관리공단’이 시설 관리하듯 운영하는 경우가 많았습니다. 서울시에서 도서관 정책 담당 인력이 과장 포함 두 명에 불과하고 도서관 건립비에 비해 도서 장서 예산은 쥐꼬리만하다는 사실을 알게 됐습니다. 이것이 오세훈 ‘문화시정’의 실체입니다. 아마 서울뿐만 아니라 전국 상당수 지자체가 이런 식의 실정일 겁니다. 그래서 많은 돈을 쓰면서도 정작 시민들의 삶의 질은 높아지지 않습니다. 이번 기회에 서울시를 비롯한 전국 지자체의 문화예술 정책이 획기적으로 전환되는 계기가 되기를 바랍니다.

저도 클래식을 좋아하고 정명훈님을 좋아하지만
시민의 세금이 집행될 때는 정확한 사유와 증빙이 만들어져야겠지요.
아무리 취지가 좋다 하더라도 자금 집행이 투명하지 못하고 관행을 이유로 예외를 두는 순간부터 문제와 오해의 여지가 생긴다고 봅니다.

클래식애호가로서 유럽이나 여러나라들의 경우와 다르지 않다고 보는 입장입니다.
단순히 예산이 많다적다는 문제는 공직에서 어느정도선의 합의없이
일개도시의 시장의 독자적인 판단으로 집행한 과도한예산은 상당히 문제가 있다고 봅니다.

시민들을 위한 시의 공공단체라면 어느단체거나 균형을 맞추어야한고
예산도 마찬가지고요. 충분히 균형있는 적당한예산으로도 유능한 지휘자는 구할수 있습니다. 정명훈이 아니면 안된다는 쪽이 정명훈 옹호집단이라면더 문제이고, 정명훈이 좋으면 정명훈이 어디서 음악을 하던 가서 들으면됩니다.
서울시민의 예산을 한사람을 위해 헌납할필요는 전혀 없다고 봅니다.

정명훈이 있던 프랑스 예술계나 또 다른 해외음악계에서는 절대 있을수 없는일도 정명훈에 의해서 서울시향에서 일어나고 있네요.

어느 블로거가 아주 서울시향의 내부사정까지 상세하게 마에스트로를 언급하며 찬양수준으로 정명훈을 옹호하는 글을 올렸더군요.
그글에서 상당히 문제가 심각하다는것을 볼수 있었습니다.
지금이 독일나찌시대도 아니고 히틀러 찬양하는 수준도 아닌데
정명훈 아니면 서울시향이나 한국음악계가 무너지는양
수십억의 비공개출처를 묻지도 따지지도 말라는 뉘앙스, 수십억이 아까우면
그돈으로 음악가를 데려와바라는 진중권의 맨트까지..
한국의 음악계가 이리 닫힌세계에서 음악가의 명성만 중시하는 심각한 상태까지 이르렀나 놀랐습니다.

음악가도 사람이고 사회인이고 모두 더불어가는 사람이고 한 직종인데
무슨 음악이 신도 아니고 문제있어도 덮자는게 얼마나 부패하고 이기적인 발언인지

독일의 유수한 악단이나 미국, 프랑스 등 유럽의 음악계는
오랜전통을 자랑하는 노조가 있어서 그들의 전통과 명성이 유지되고 있다는데,
기자들이나 클래식애호가들이 관심도 없고 배우지도 않고
언론들도 노동권의 중요성이나 구조적인 문제를 직접적으로 제대로 다루지 않기 때문에 한국의 클래식계가 이렇게 된게 아닌가 생각이 들더군요.

그만큼 한국이 바라보는 노동환경과 노동권을 지키는 기본적인 교육시스템이나 정보전달이나 소통 조차 안되어있기 때문에 클래식을 특별한사람들만의 전유물로 인식하는것이 당연한듯 부끄러움도 느끼지 못하는 것이 아닌지 생각이 듭니다.
공무원 군대 교양학단, 음악가 할것없이 모든 사람이 자신의 일자리를 위해 절대 양보할수 없는 노동권리 일할권리를 지키는것을 당연하게 여기고 있는 나라들의 현실에 비해
한국은 상류층직업이고 고학력직업이라고 자신들은 노동자가 아니고, 일할권리에 대해 당연히 보장받아야하는 권리보다
노동이라는 단어를 비하하는 인식이 더 강한것도 사실이고, 오히려 대자본이나 상급자의 편에 서서 권력독점이나 비리까지 감싸는 이들도 많이 있으니말이죠. 마치 지금상황이 보여주듯이 높은 권력이나 명성이면 부정부패한일들도 무조건 모두 면제부를 주여야한다고 주장하는것처럼 말이죠.

유수한 유럽의 교향악단들의 연주를 종종 보게되면 70대 80대 흰머리 연주단원들이 자리를 잡은 악단이 감동적이고 깊은 울림의 음악을 전합니다. 그들이 하는 음악은 정명훈이 한 물갈이 오디션이나 특별한 음악이 아니었습니다.
음악을 할수 있는 노동권의 보장과 노조의 힘이 그들의 음악을 존재하게 하고 있는것이고, 단원들간의 유대감의 깊이만큼 명성도 자연스럽게 따라갑니다.

그런데 부끄럽게도 정명훈과 그 옹호론자들은 전혀 그런면을 배제하고 정명훈아니면 안된다는 주장을 하고 있네요.
취임시 바로 새로 오디션을 보고 단원들 물갈이 부터 한 정명훈이
악단에서 가장 중요하고 자리를 지키고 단원들을 이끌고 유대감을 조성해야하는 수석주자를 공석으로 두었다는 기사를 며칠전에 보고 정말 놀랬습니다.

보통 음악대학오케스트라도 수석주자자리는 젤먼저 정하고 바꾸지 않습니다.
자신의 절대적위치나 권한을 위해, 또는 자신의 부정부패나 독재시스템을 유지하기위해, 단원들의 목소리나 힘을 약화시키고 유대감을 갖지못하게 하려는 의도가 아니라면
단원들간의 유대감을 강하게하고 더 아름다운음악을 만들 환경을 조성하는데 수석주자는 젤 중요하다는것이 상식이고요. 이번에 뉴스기사에 부인이 예술감독직에서 불법적으로 받은 자금도 시민들에게 돌려주고 책임져야할 부분이고요.

정명훈 두부부, 그리고 진중권의 발언은 정말 유럽에서 살면서 유럽의 사회나 사람들의 삶이 어떻게 돌아가는지 뉴스나 사회문제에 전혀 관심없이 살지않고서는 믿기지 않을 일들인거 같네요.

정명훈은 프랑스오페라단에 있을때 그 음악단소속음악가들이 노조의 힘으로
정명훈을 도와준뉴스기사도 있고, 그럼에도 프랑스정부가 정명훈을 잘랐다고 하더군요.
프랑스정부도 예산이나 기준에 맞지 않으면 나가라고 하는데
한 도시의 시민들이 공공예산은 잘못된 부정이나 비리예산에 대해서 따지고 잘못된것은
책임을 물어야죠.

누가 지휘자이던 횡령비리를 막기위해 비공개예산유용도 백프로 공개하게하고 반드시 책임을 따져야할문제입니다.
더우기 빚더미 시정에 시민들의 삶은 아랑곳없이 명성에 목메는 악단이 아닌 시민들과 공감하는 음악을 해야한다고 봅니다. 한달에 10일도 출근하지 않으면서 먼 시민을 위한 음악이고,
재계약때 되서 시민에게 보여주려고 온갖홍보에 음악회남발한들
자신이 원하는것은 명성뿐아닌가요? 옹호자들또한 자신들만의 클래식을 기준으로 원할뿐 보통 시민들이 느끼는 음악은 관심밖

정명훈만을 고집하는 사람들은 개인적인 돈으로 따로 하시고
정명훈의 서울시향이 아닌 서울시민의 서울시향으로 만들어야지요.
보여주기음악회로 크리스마스에 묻어가지못하게 잘 따져야될 문제입니다.

독일의 지역악단 수석주자인 바이올리니스트가 독일에는 단원들의 노조가 오랫동안 이어져와서, 흰머리연주자들이 노동권을 보장받는다고 하더군요.
그들이 명성을 위해 음악을 할까요? 그 지역에서 가족을 이루고 손자손녀들을 키우고, 마을사람들, 지역민들과 더불어 흰머리노인이 될때까지 음악을 나누고 사는 사람들이 클래식을 하고 있습니다. 수석주자인 독일연주가한 의미심장한 말을 하더군요.
젊은 유학생들이나 특히 아시아인들은 기교가 뛰어나답니다.
그런데 연주를 하면 단원들간의 유대감이 없고, 스타일이 하루만에 바뀌지 않기 때문에 연주가 자연스럽게 썪이지 못해서 함께 연주하는것이 매우 힘들다고 하더군요. 끊기있게 버티는 사람이 얼마 없다고 어렵게 들어왔다가도 그만두고 나가는경우가 많다고요. 터잡고사는 그들과 달리 명성이나 경력을 위해 경험삼아 들어간경우가 허다하니 그들은 알고 있는겁니다.

정명훈이 원하는것은 과연 머였는지 둘러봐야겠지요.
정명훈이 원한것은 절대적인 권위와 자신의 다음자리를 위한 명성이지
함께 하는 음악의 요소에 전혀 관심이 없었던것은 아닐까요?
자신의 절대적,무한권한을 위해서 가장 손쉬운일이 단원들의 힘을 빼는것이니까요. 수석주자를 공석으로 두거나 필요시에 해외에서 연주자를 데려오는것은 참으로 이명박대통령과 흡사한 선택으로 보입니다.

시민들의 삶도 음악단원들의 삶도 함께 어울리고 그들의 일터가 보장되기 까지
독일은 흰머리 연주단원들이나 모든 직종의 사람들이나 노동권을 지키는데
열심입니다. 높고낮고, 직업의 귀천이나 업종을 떠나서 모두가 자신과 가족의 삶을 위해 일할 권리, 삶의 터전을 지키기 위해 혼신을 다하고 있는 것입니다. 그중에도 가장 중요한것은 상대적박탈감으로 사회가 무너지지 않게
매년마다 과도한 임금격차가 나지 않게 사회적인 합의의 장이 열린다는 겁니다. 어느한쪽으로 과도하게 몰려서 다른 한쪽이 피해를 보지않게 모두가 모여서 머리를 맞대고 소통하고 조절하고 합의를 한다는 겁니다. 함께 더불어사는 세상으로 가는 길이니까요.
그것을 소중하게 생각하지 않는 사람은 나누기보다 챙기기 급급하겠지요. 혼자만 잘살겠다고

터잡고 사는 단원들과 시민들을 위한 것보다 자신의 명성올리기에 급한 6년간의 행적 기자들과 시민들이 꼼꼼하게 따져서 다음 그다음 지휘자들이 더 나은 방향으로 가게 하는것이 바람직하다고 봅니다.

사람은 그들이 원하는대로 남기니까요.
시민을 생각했다면 한푼도 허투루 쓰지 않고 투명하게 공개하겠지요.
그렇게 해야하고

서울시향의 방향이 단원들의 삶과 시민들의 삶이 함께 공유되고,
오히려 시민들이 직접 오케스트라를 만들거나 시민들과 같이 음악을 나누는 장을 만들어서 음악이 명성이나 성과보다 시민들과 함께하고
터를 잡고 살아가는 시민들의 힘이 되는 통로가 되길 바랍니다.

시민들이 참여해서 나눌수 있는것들도 마련하시고
특히 소외된분들과 청소년들의 학교담벼락안에 갇인 삶과, 꿈을 찾지 못해 방황하는 현대인들을 위해 위로와 힘이 되는 서울시향이 될수 있는 시스템과
새로운 따뜻한 지휘자가 오길 바랍니다.

오케스트라나 합창같이 다같이 하는 음악은 혼자하는음악보다 감동이 크지요.
그 역할이나 변화도 상당히 큰 의미를 가질거라는 생각이 듭니다.

누구나 클래식을 접하려면 비용이 부담이 없어하는데

I have been with my boyfriend on and off for almost five years. There are ways that we are so much in tune with each other -- intellectually, politically, and physically -- but the connection that I think is most important, our emotional connection, remains elusive. From what he's told me, his dad was emotionally abusive and his mother, who wasn't emotionally expressive herself, just went along with things. Often, when we have problems, he'll say it reminds him of something with his dad. I feel like our relationship has three people in it.

He is seeing a therapist but things don't seem to be changing. We've split up several times because we cannot communicate. When I try to bring up a problem to discuss and try to work through it, he immediately goes on the defensive because he says it seems like an attack to him no matter how calmly and gently I speak. I know his father resented him and showed it clearly in almost all their interactions, but I'm not his dad and we are both middle-aged. Could this ever change?

김광수경제연구소를 떠나며

안녕하세요. 선대인입니다. 이미 아시는 분들도 계시겠지만, 저는 이미 두 달여 전부터 김광수경제연구소를 사직한 상태입니다.

사직한 이유는 여러 가지가 있지만, ‘발전적 독립’이라고 이해해 주시길 바랍니다. 풀뿌리 시민정치압력운동을 지향하는 세금혁명당 활동에 좀 더 힘을 쏟고 우석훈 박사 등과 계획하고 있는 ‘나꼼수 경제편’을 진행하는 한편 중장기적으로는 독립적인 경제미디어도 준비할 생각입니다. 물론 호구지책으로 제 이름을 딴 경제연구소 설립도 준비하고 있습니다만. 이런 여러 일들을 진행하려면 아무래도 좀 더 자유롭게 운신할 필요가 있다고 생각해서 내린 결정이니 이해해 주시길 바랍니다.

이미 사직한 상태에서도 이 사실을 밝히지 않았던 것은 김광수소장님께서 시작하시는 정치세력화 작업에 도움이 되지는 못할망정 누가 되지는 않았으면 하는 생각 때문이었습니다. 하지만 ‘세금혁명당이 김광수소장이 추진하는 정당의 2중대 아니냐’는 의심을 계속 받게 되는 상황에서는 더 이상 이대로 가기는 어렵다고 판단했습니다.

저는 3년 전 김광수경제연구소에 합류하면서 연구소를 독립적인 전문연구기관으로 키우는 한편 연구소를 토대로 정직하고 신뢰받는 미디어를 만들고 싶다는 포부를 밝힌 바 있습니다. 제 나름대로는 재직하는 동안 최선을 다해 그 같은 목표를 위해 매진했습니다만 결과적으로는 그 목표를 충분히 달성하지 못하고 떠나게 되어 무척 아쉽게 생각합니다.

연구소를 떠나며 한 가지 분명히 하고 싶은 것은 세금혁명당은 소장님께서 추진하시는 정치세력화와는 조직 차원에서는 무관합니다. 다만 세금혁명당은 처음 제안취지에서부터 그랬지만, 기존 세력이든 신진 세력이든 특정 정파를 편들기보다는 세금재정이라는 정책의제를 중심으로 정치압력을 행사하려는 운동체입니다. 그리고 제가 대표로 있기는 하지만 SNS를 기반으로 한 조직의 특성상 제가 세금혁명당을 마음대로 좌지우지하며 특정 정파를 지지하도록 할 수도 없습니다. 그러니 세금혁명당을 김광수소장님이 추진하는 정당과 연관 짓지는 말아 주시기 바랍니다. 그것은 저를 떠나 이 나라 살림살이를 바꿔 세상을 바꾸자는 취지로 뭉친 순수한 시민들에게 실례가 될 수도 있으니까요.

그 동안 저는 부동산과 세금재정 문제 등을 중심으로 이 사회의 기득권구조와 싸우는 과정에서 많은 분들의 도움을 받았습니다. 그 동안 성원과 격려, 조언과 질책을 보내주신 많은 분들께 머리 숙여 감사드립니다. 지금 비록 김광수경제연구소를 떠나지만 다른 곳에서, 다른 방식으로 이 세상을 좀 더 좋은 세상으로 만들기 위해 노력하겠습니다. 이 사회의 근본적 개혁을 염원하면서 좀 더 좋은 나라를 미래세대에 물려주고 싶은 저의 마음은 변치 않을 것이라는 점은 믿어 주시면 좋겠습니다.
